Michelle’s passion for family started at a young age. By the second grade, she had already decided she would be a divorce attorney so that she could help parents do what is best for their children and themselves during difficult times with the hope that she would make a positive difference in a child’s life. Luckily, she achieved that life goal shortly after graduating from law school and passing the Florida Bar Exam.
Before becoming an attorney, Michelle attended Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee where she studied Sociology, Statistics, and French. After graduating with honors, Michelle attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. There, she received multiple book awards and certificates in both International Law and Legal Research and Writing. She also studied Comparative Enforcement of Human Rights, European Union Law, and French Business Law at the University of Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France. In addition, she served as a student clinician at the Florida Coastal School of Law Immigrant Rights Live Client Clinic assisting low-income individuals in their naturalization proceedings.
Upon graduating from law school, Michelle began her legal career at the Law Office of Omar Farooq, PLLC. After spending a year learning various areas of law, she began her family law career at Owenby Law, PA where she spent several years gaining experience and knowledge while representing numerous clients in an assortment of legal matters of varying complexities. With almost ten years of experience, Michelle uses her courtroom skill and knowledge to help clients navigate the legal system, deal with their emotions, make better decisions for their children, and most importantly, put their children first.
